Night Number Two

Well I have one good thing to report first off... I am officially down 10.0 pounds since I started my new diet on 2/22/10.  I set a goal to lose 10 pounds per month and I have gotten this far in almost three weeks.  This started my day off pretty decent.

The place we are staying is not very quiet during the day.  We put a do not disturb, sleeping sign on our door.  Now we know they have to clean rooms and such and to our knowledge there was only one person staying in the hall where we were... but they must have flushed every toilet in the building where we could hear it 14 times! And I guess because we would not let them into our room they decided that they needed to vacuum outside our door and our hallway at least a dozen times.

I know I got a couple of hours of sleep, because when I woke up at 2 pm after knowing that it was 11 the last time I looked at my phone... I had missed a couple of phone calls! I think I answered thew phone once and maybe that is what happened to wake me up... but my recruiter Joe called and I honestly to this minute have no idea what we talked about or if I even needed to do something. Once we hung up I checked my voice mails and to my surprise there was a call from Camp High Rocks which I have been waiting weeks for.  When I returned the phone call however, she had already left for the day and I forgot about the time difference for the first time in awhile. So I left a message and hope to hear from her again tomorrow.  The great thing about this is the camp is really cool and it would be a great opportunity to get a few weeks of work in here.  What boy would not like it.  Check it out right here!  Camp High Rocks . I also happen to know one of the staff members and one of the owners through Jeff;s scouting brothers.  I hope that it will work out.

Finally dragged my behind up and saw that Corinna was still gone, she had left earlier when she could not sleep to go try and workout... I had not been that adventurous as I had only been asleep for 2 hours when she decided to go and she had several more hours of sleep than I.  I tried to explain to her that I am NOT a morning person and 1 in the afternoon is like 1 in the morning to me.  She decided that after trying out the hospital workout area that she would go and visit with Kentucky who has our food and such and they ended up going on a walk and so lost track of time.  So when it was like 5:15 she comes back all apologetic (which I was not mad) and we get ready for work.  We headed to Kentucky's and I hurriedly prepared our meals and I honestly was not very hungry and just feel downright miserable.

We head to work and as soon as I literally put my stuff down in the unit... there is a CODE BLUE called in another area of the hospital... well one nurse from every unit has to respond and since change of shift was happening I decided to head that way as well as one of the Day Lead Nurses... after a brisk sprint through the facility we arrive and within a minute or two... the code was over.

Back to the unit I found that tonight we only have 4 patients and they are all adults... I know Adults in the pediatric unit... My 14 and 16 year old went home and I just had my 40 year old who had surgery today.  I was working with Corinna who had two patients and The LPN who had the same one patient as yesterday.

We got settled into  our routine and kept waiting for the call that an admission was coming... We ended up sending the CNA over to work on OB which was only sad in the fact that she is a very fun and nice lady.
